Students from all disciplines and universities are welcome to apply to Gustolab International's summer program in Rome, Vietnam or Japan, our Internship program in Italy (Rome, North and South of Italy), or our Fall program in Rome.

Critical Studies on Food in Italy - Food Systems and Sustainability

DURATION: Summer 5-week Full Immersion Program

WHEN: May 21 – June 23, 2018
WHERE: Rome, Italy

 
Students may choose from a range of courses including:
  • Critical Studies on Food 
  • Food Media, Communication and Trends 
  • Food, Nutrition and Culture in Italy
  • Food Waste in Italy 
  • Italian Language for Food and Business (Italian Lexicon for Food Studies)
  • Elementary Italian Language
  • Intensive Elementary Italian Language

This program in Rome is accredited through UMASS Amherst giving the opportunity for successful participants to earn 6 or 9 credits. 

DURATION: Summer 4-week Full Immersion Program
WHEN: July 9 – August 4, 2018
WHERE: Osaka, Japan

 

DURATION: Summer 4-week Full Immersion Program
WHEN: June 18 – July 15, 2018
WHERE: Multiple locations in Vietnam, including Sapa and Mai Chau in the north, Danang, Hoi An, and Hue in central Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City in the south. 

DURATION: 4 weeks, Summer (Longer periods available for Spring and Fall Semesters)
WHEN: June 24 – July 21, 2018 
WHERE: Italy, Multiple locations available
Our internships are customized according to the needs of students. They offer interns the opportunity to work in a specific field dealing with some aspect of food systems or sustainability.  Interns will also participate in a research symposium and carry out a research project. No prior study of Italian is required, but in that students spend most of their time at the intern site, most interns acquire basic Italian skills. Language instruction is provided. 
 
 
Food in Italy: Sustainable Markets, Products and Processes

DURATION: Fall Semester Full Immersion Program
WHEN: September 7 – December 15, 2018
WHERE: Rome, Italy

 

All our programs provide experiential learning opportunities, connections to a network of chefs, journalists and experts in the Food Systems and Sustainability Fields as well as access to leading cutting-edge research.
