Fall Chapel Series Features Sustainability

Recipient of a 2012 Second Nature Climate Leadership Award. One of eight colleges across the country to receive an "A" on the 2011 College Sustainability Report Card.

A partnership with the Center for Sustainable Communities, the fall Chapel series "What we need is here: Living in Sustainable" will draw from texts throughout Scripture and from the wisdom of various disciplines to engage in conversation about sustainable living in everything from the environment to our own schedules. The title of the series is from Wendell Berry's poem, "What We Need is Here":

What We Need Is Here        by Wendell Berry

Geese appear high over us,
pass, and the sky closes. Abandon,
as in love or sleep, holds
them to their way, clear
in the ancient faith: what we  need
is here. And we pray, not
for new earth or heaven, but to be
quiet in heart, and in eye,
clear. What we need is here.

Chapel is from 10:30-10:50 a.m. in the Main Hall in the Center for Faith and Life on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays.
