Participate in a HUMAN MOSAIC and AREAL PHOTO SHOT on Earth Day (Sunday, April 22nd) at 1:00pm on Library Lawn as a part of Luther's climate change and social justice campaign. . The photo will capture a simple image of a tree, the campaign's logo, on Library Lawn in a human mosaic. The outline of the tree will quite literally be the student body(ies)! The photo will serve as an advocacy tool for the UN conference in Rio and will be representative of the collaborative work taking place throughout the campaign.
The campaign is being organized by Kristi Holmberg, a senior at Luther College. This campaign compliments the Global Concerns Peace Week (April 15-22) which is also climate-justice themed. The title of the campaign is "The Future We Want." The campaign will influence the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development that will be taking place this June in Rio de Janeiro. The campaign will intersect with an international movement of youth through the Earth Day Network that are trying to get 1 billion "acts of green" such as pledges, educational events, or voter registrations from youth around the world. Help us take on Luther College and Decorah as we join the movement to envision and advocate for a sustainable and just future.
