Education for Sustainable Development Conference in Japan

A youth delegation is being selected to go to a youth conference (ages 18-35) on education for sustainable development (ESD) in Japan in November 2014, with 50 attendees from all over the world, marking the last international conference on this topic for the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development.

Luther College new member of EPA's Food Recovery Challenge

United States Environmental Protection Agency Region 7 announced that Luther College is one of nine colleges named a new collegiate member of EPA's Food Recovery Challenge. FRC is a national initiative aimed at encouraging businesses, organizations and institutions to actively participate in food waste prevention, surplus food donation and food waste recycling activities.

The Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) has selected Luther College to receive a State Energy Program Formula to assess potential beneficial uses of landfill gas (LFG) generated at the Winneshiek County Landfill as an energy source for Luther.
