Luther College offers CSA reimbursement program

Luther College's Center for Sustainable Community has partnered with local farmers to provide Luther faculty and staff the opportunity to participate in a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program and receive reimbursement for a portion of the share they choose to buy.

Luther College hosts renewable energy tour

On June 21, the summer solstice-the day with the most hours of daylight in the year, Luther College will host a public tour of its renewable energy facilities. The tour is part of the "Solar Works for Iowa" campaign, which is promoting similar events in communities across the state to discuss the potential for solar energy to heat and power Iowans' homes, businesses and farms.

Education for Sustainable Development Conference in Japan

A youth delegation is being selected to go to a youth conference (ages 18-35) on education for sustainable development (ESD) in Japan in November 2014, with 50 attendees from all over the world, marking the last international conference on this topic for the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development.

Be a Waste Diverter!

Volunteer to be a waste diverter assistant during finals week and help reduce the quantity of materials that end up in the landfill, as well as help students learn what is waste vs. what is recyclable/reusable!

Luther College new member of EPA's Food Recovery Challenge

United States Environmental Protection Agency Region 7 announced that Luther College is one of nine colleges named a new collegiate member of EPA's Food Recovery Challenge. FRC is a national initiative aimed at encouraging businesses, organizations and institutions to actively participate in food waste prevention, surplus food donation and food waste recycling activities.
