Food in the Curriculum

German 102

German professor Ruth Kath incorporates food into her class when discussing German immigration.  Local residents come in to talk about their German heritage, and how their ancestors handed down the tradition of gardening through seeds. The ethnobotany of Germans and Austrians is also discussed.  Students then plant morning glory, tomatoes, and lettuce for harvest later in the semester.
