In addition to her sustainability activities, Maddie plays the clarinet in Wind and Percussion Program at Luther and plays the piano for fun.  She is a member of Luther's Environmental Concerns Organization (ECO), along with working for the Sustainability Office, and she lives in the Sustainability House. She grew up in Iowa City in a very environmentally conscious family where she learned from a young age to appreciate the environment and embrace a sustainable lifestyle. She enjoys outdoor activities such as kayaking, skiing/snowboarding, swimming, biking, running, hiking, and camping.  She also loves baking and cooking, especially with local foods.
