Travis Houle '15

Biology and Environmental Studies
Sustainability Rep and Gardener

Hometown: Edina, Minnesota

Veggie of choice: Peppers, mostly of the HOT variety.

Most enjoyed gardening activity: Planting and watering, I like to help things grow!

Travis gained a love for the outdoors through his involvement in such sports as sailing, running and skiing.  Since his arrival at Luther, Travis has become greatly involved in sustainability. Having served as a student gardener, recycler, and sustainability representative, he continues to integrate sustainability into his life and the lives of other students through his involvement and love for sustainability at large.

Travis enjoys making Trav's September styled spicy Salsa using hot peppers from the garden.  When asked why he enjoys gardening, Travis said, “I enjoy gardening because I am able to learn a great deal about food, gardening, sustainable agriculture, and the delicious side effects of eating green!”
