The Campus Sustainability Council, comprising students, faculty, and staff, began its duties in fall 2008. Each member of the council will serve on at least one of four sub-groups that will include other members of the Luther community. Each sub-group will address specific goals in the strategic plan related to the following topics:

Student Learning

Encourages education as a way to promote sustainability practices on campus.

Food, Purchasing, and Waste

This group is concerned with sustainability as it pertains to food, purchasing, and waste.  They have developed guidelines for the purchase of materials such as food, electronics, appliances, and cleaning supplies.

Energy and Water

Promoting sustainability by looking at Luther's energy and water use and seeking ways to reduce the use of these resources.

Land Use

Looks at Luther's land usage and ways to either sustainably use the land or reduce usage of the land.
