Towers/Ylvisaker's Annual Cookout - April 27, 2008
Co-sponsored with Ylvisaker and Towers hall management. This event is available for all residents living in Dieseth, Miller, or Ylvisaker Halls. This event consists of day-long activities which include the cookout, carnival games, tournaments, movie on the lawn, and raffles.
SAPA Run/Walk - (Sexual Assault Prevention Awareness) April 23, 2008
Co-sponsored with the Social Work Association. This run/walk event will help the Luther and Decorah community understand the impact sexual abuse has on the community. Literature, short speeches, and a mural depicting the ratio of women who will be sexually abused in Iowa will be available before and after the race. All proceeds from the run will be donated to the Helping Services of Northeast Iowa's Domestic and Sexual Abuse Resource Center.

Bike Share - begins April 14
Five bikes are now available for use by Luther students to use for their pleasure. Check out is at the Welcome Desk in Dahl Centennial Union. The bikes are available at no fee but there is a late fee of $10 if the bike is not returned by 10 p.m. the evening of checkout.
Relay for Life - April 11, 2008. Co-sponsored event begins at 6 p.m. on Friday night and continues until 6 a.m. Saturday. Currently there are 32 teams signed up with over $7,000 raised.
Mock Sexual Assault Trial: April 9, 2008
Co-sponsored with Northeast Iowa Community College, Helping Services of Northeast Iowa. A Luther student organized this event as part of her Women & Gender Studies major. The purpose was to educate our Luther community about issues of sexual assault and ways to prevent sexual assault in our community. Also performed a court room trial for local high school and Northeast Iowa Community College classes. Held in the Recital Hall of the CFL.
Badminton Night - Friday, March 28
Co-sponsored with Recreational Sports. Open invitation for all international students and friends to come enjoy a late afternoon round of badminton and feast on the cooking of their friends. 3-6 p.m. in the Regent's Center.
Blood Screening/HRA/Physician's Visit
March 20, March 25, April 3, April 8 - get free blood screening at the Health Service Use the results to fill out your HRA and then take the results to your physician's visit. Faculty/staff only.
Positive Body Image Week - February 24 - March 1. Different events will include Celebrate Your Body; Eating as a Celebration in the cafeteria.
Monster Trike Races: February 23, 2008 Halftime races in both the men and women's basketball games will feature Luther faculty/staff and students in a race for speed and agility. Come watch the fun! Women's basketball game starts at 2 p.m. and men's basketball game begins at 4 p.m.
"Crazy in America: the Hidden Tragedy of our Criminalized Mentally Ill" lecture - February 12, 2008.
Co-sponsored with Lectures and Fine Arts; Center for Ethics and Public Life; Central Point of Coordination Office of Winneshiek County, Mary Beth lectured to the Luther community of the criminalization of the mentally ill in a lecture in the CFL as well as social work classes.

Blood Drive - January 18, 2008.
Co-sponsored with APO service fraternity. This was a blood drive for the Luther community held in Brunsdale lounge. There will also be a wellness fair. The goal of having the blood drive in the residence halls is to encourage first-time givers.
B.O.M.B. (Brandt Open Mic Bar) - January 19, 2008
Co-sponsored with Brandt Hall. This is an open mic contest where students can win cash prizes for the best performance. Mocktails served to the over 500 people that attended last year.
Norsenecks present YAHOO - wellness initiative for faculty/staff
January, 2008. "Families" gather in groups of four. Exercise thirty minutes a day for a roll of the dice. Each 1 1/2 hours is a turn. Best score at the end of the month wins a $40 gas card to each team plus a drawing from all active participants for a major prize.
Building Female Leaders through Sport class - January, 2008
Co-sponsored with NCAA, Luther Athletic Dept. This Sense of Vocation program is comprised of coaches and athletes from each female sport at Luther and met weekly during January. They read three books and discussed the readings as well as utilized the web site of Jeff Jansen's "Team Captains Network". The goal was to come to a better understanding of what it means to be a woman in a sport today and develop the skills necessary to encourage women to fill the leadership roles in the future.

Adventure Race: November 3, 2007. 11 a.m. start
1-2 hour canoe paddle in the Upper Iowa River, 6-mile bike on gravel, 3-mile trail run as well as mystery challenges along the path.
Entries are located in the Legends Fitness Center, Union and Regent's Center.
Human Bowling - November 3, 2007
Watch the lucky Luther students bowl on the track at the half-time of the Luther/Simpson football game. Six-foot bowling pins and a human bowling bowl will make for a hilarious and fun half-time experience.

Jump in the pool, lie on an inner tube, and enjoy a movie with your friends as you stay cool.
Late Night with Norse Basketball - November 3, 2007, 9 - 11 p.m.
Sponsored by Making Good Choices and Wellness. Activity is designed to promote the Luther Basketball programs as well as create an alternative activity to alcohol consumption by students. Activities include shooting games, dunk contest, 3-point shooting contest, half court shots as well as the first 200 students to enter receive a free tee shirt.
Halloween Climb - Friday, November 2, 2007, 7 - 9 p.m.
Halloween is too big to be celebrated on a Wednesday night so we are extending the holiday to Friday. Come climb the wall in a costume and be eligible for great prizes. Free candy and lots of spook-tacular climbing activities.
Trick or Treating in the Residence Halls: October 31, 2007
First-year floors welcome the children of Luther employees to come trick or treat on their floors between the hours of 4 - 8 pm. Designated floors will be marked with pumpkins at the entrance door. (Resident assistants of these halls will be going out into the community and trick or treating for food that same evening.)

First Year Dance - August 31, 2007
