Eating Disorder Month: February is Eating Disorder Awareness Month. Campus dietician Anne Blocker will be tabling Monday February 9 outside of Marty's from 11:30am-1:30pm with dark chocolate samples. For more information about eating disorders, click here.
Random Acts of Kindness Week: For the week of February 8th-14th, do something nice for someone else and pass on the kindness. Buy someone a cup of coffee, hold the door, send a handwritten letter to a friend. Anything counts!
Vagina Monologues: The annual Vagina Monologues will hold Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13 and Saturday, Feb. 14, and 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, in the Center for Faith and Life Recital Hall on the Luther campus. Click here for more details.
Library Lovers Month: February is Library Lovers Month. Stay tuned for a fun night planned in the library.
Time Management Month: February is Time Management Month. Some tips for helping to manage time better include:
DEAL Program: This is a wellness and exercise program for the month of November. Teams of three are needed and all faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to participate. More information about the program can be found under Related Documents on this web page. Download the sign up sheet and join in!
World Kindness Month: Random acts of kindness are encouraged throughout the month of November. Hold the door for someone, pay for a stranger's coffee, anything that can make a small difference in a person's life.
It's On Us Pledge: Males across campus are encouraged to be more involved in in sexual assault prevention. Check back for more details about tabling, viewing a movie, and taking the pledge.
Healthy Skin Month: Local doctors will be available to inspect moles. Check back for dates and times, as they are still being determined.
Great American Smokeout: On the third Thursday of November each year, the American Cancer Society hosts the Great American Smokeout where current smokers are encouraged to quit that day or at least plan a date to quit. On campus events coming soon. This year's event will be November 20th. For more information visit the American Cancer Society's website.
Cooking Classes: The Sustainability office will be offering cooking classes. The Thursday, November 6, class will be Homemade Stock: Your Kitchen's Best Kept Secret. It will be held in Valders 379 from 9:45-10:45am. The Monday, November 17, class will be Fall Comfort Food. It will held in Valders 379 from 12-1pm.
Fire Prevention Week: Fire Prevention Week ran from October 6th through October 12th. Fire extinguisher simulations will took place in the lobby of Dahl Centennial Union. Kathy Euans and Mary Lou Mohr were winners of our Fire Safety Week. Both tried the extinguisher simulators and learned how to stay safe.
Parfait Night: Towers students climbed all floors of their residence hall to build their own parfait. Supplies ran out within one hour.
Breast Cancer Awareness: Nursing students tabled outside the cafeteria, providing bracelets and pamphlets about breast cancer. Bracelet bands were all gone after first night. More bracelets were ordered for second day of tabling.
