Orientation Assistant (OA) and Moving Crew (MC) Information and Responsibilities
Basic Responsibilities for OAs and MCs
Work as a part of the orientation team to help provide a welcoming, educational, and fun environment for new Luther students. These are volunteer positions.

Orientation Assistant
Responsibilities - assist four student orientation coordinators, help with move-in and various activities throughout orientation week. We will be selecting approximately 20 students.
- Wednesday, April 24
- 7:00 p.m. - mandatory informational meeting for all volunteers, Valders 206
- Thursday, August 29
- 4:00 p.m. - mandatory informational meeting for OAs and OCs, Nobel Room, second floor Union
- Friday, August 30
- 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. - assist with moving early-arrival new students into their residence hall
- 4:00 p.m. – mandatory informational meeting, Valders 206
- Saturday, August 31
- 7:45 a.m. – group photo of entire orientation staff
- 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. – carry lots and lots of luggage
- 2:30 p.m. – participate in the opening session in the CFL for new students and parents
- 3:30 p.m. – assist with the Reception for Parents at Bentdahl Commons
- Sunday, September 1 – September 8
- Assist coordinators with various activities to be assigned
Fall Arrival Information
Orientation Assistants should plan on returning to campus on Thursday, August 29 between 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Check-in will be in the Residence Life Office, first floor Dahl Centennial Union. Your first meal covered by Student Life will be Thursday dinner, continuing until your board plan begins at breakfast on Saturday.
Moving Crew
Responsibilities - requires physical labor, being energetic and friendly. We will be selecting approximately 100 students.

Your first meal covered by Student Life will be Friday supper (your board plan begins at breakfast on Saturday).
