Room Draw
Room draw is the process by which Luther College students who currently live on campus obtain campus housing for the upcoming year. There are many different housing options available to students at Luther, so the best advice we can offer is to take your time to research your options and follow the guidelines. The more knowledge you have about the process and about specific application procedures, the better you will be able to make informed decisions about your housing options.
The Luther room draw process is based on earned credit hours as determined by the Registrar’s office. The process is designed to give next year’s senior class first priority, junior class second priority, and the sophomore class final priority.
The room draw process begins with special room draw applications at the beginning of spring term including Baker Village, Prairie Houses, and off-campus. Guidelines and applications are included on this website or can be picked up in the Residence Life Office at the start of spring term. At the beginning of April, the room draw process continues with cluster/suite/and apartment applications. Directly following this process is the general room draw for single and double occupancy rooms.
Each year in March the Housing Draw Booklet is emailed to each student detailing the general room draw process and dates. The Room Draw Booklet will also be available through this website in March. Informational sessions to answer questions about the special room draw application process and the general room draw process will be held in the residence halls to assist students with questions. If you have additional questions please contact the Residence Life Office at 387-1330.
