Choosing a Plan
All students living on campus are automatically on full board (20 meals per week) at the beinning of each semester. If full board is not wanted, on-campus students have two weeks at the beginning of each semester to switch their full board plan to one of the alternative meal plans below.
At the beginning of J-term, the plans go back to full board for spring semester.
Unused meals cannot be refunded.
On-Campus Meal Plans 2009–10
NOTE: ALL ON-CAMPUS MEAL PLANS COST THE SAME AMOUNT!
On-Campus Board Plans ($2,800 per academic year)
Note: There are 15 weeks in a semester and 20 meals served per week.
Full Board
- All twenty meals are covered. This plan offers you the lowest cost per meal.
- Any 14 Meals/Week plus $115 Dining Dollars or $95 NordiCash /Semester
- any of the twenty meals up to fourteen a week are available to you. Refer to the following “Dining Dollars” or "Nordicash" section.
- Any 10 Meals/Week plus $210 Dining Dollars or $160 NordiCash/Semester
- any of the twenty meals up to ten a week are available. Refer to the following “Dining Dollars” or "NordiCash" section.
- 150 meals plus $210 DD (or $160 NC)/Semester
- the most flexible on-campus plan ever offered! This plan is the equivalent to approximately ten meals per week. It offers the flexibility of swiping your card twice in the same meal period, therefore allowing you to feed a friend or family member. Ask for more details!
- 175 meals plus $160 DD (or $120 NC)/Semester
- the most flexible on-campus plan ever offered! This plan is the equivalent to approximately twelve meals per week. It offers the flexibility of swiping your card twice in the same meal period, therefore allowing you to feed a friend or family member. Ask for more details!
- 100 meals plus $375 DD / Semester
- the most flexible on-campus plan ever offered! This plan is the equivalent to approximately 6-7 meals per week. It offers the flexibility of swiping your card twice in the same meal period, therefore allowing you to feed a friend or family member. Ask for more details! THIS PLAN IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR FRESHMEN!!
To change your meal plan from full board to one of the other options, click on the link below to open the form. Fill it out and drop it off in the Dining Services Office.
Off-Campus Meal Plans 2009–10
NOTE: STUDENTS DO NOT SIGN UP FOR MEAL PLANS UNTIL THEY GET TO CAMPUS IN THE FALL. THEY COME TO THE DINING SERVICES OFFICE AND FILL OUT A FORM AND THE CHARGE IS BILLED TO THEIR STUDENT ACCOUNT.
Off-Campus Board Plan Options
- 60 Meals $400*
- 60 Meals plus $95 Dining Dollars $475*
- 75 Meals plus $95 Dining Dollars $550*
- 100 Meals plus $95 Dining Dollars $675*
These options are only available for students living off-campus. Off-campus students may choose the full board plan at $2,800*. There are no restrictions with these plans—students are even able to have more than one meal in the same meal period if desired. Dining Dollars (DD) can only be used at Dining Facilities on-campus. Any meals or DD remaining at the end of the fall semester or the January term, while still a student, carry over to the spring semester but will not carry over to the next academic year. Unused meals cannot be refunded. Toward the end of the academic year, blocks of 20 meals may be purchased for $133.

Summer 2009 Meal Plan Options
- Full board both sessions $790 or each individual session $395
- 60 meals plus $90 Dining Dollars $445*
- 20 meals $125
- Full-time students working 20-40 hours per week may be on full board for $45 per week.
Dining Dollars
Dining Dollars can be used at any dining facility on campus. Access to this money is obtained with your Student Identification Card. When used in the cafeteria, a 10% discount is given. Dining Dollars carry over from fall semester into j-term and spring semester. However, they do not carry over to the next academic year.
NordiCash
NordiCash can be used at any dining facility and any cash operation on campus e.g. the Book Shop, the Print Shop, the Box Office) . Access to this money is obtained with your Student Identification Card. When used in the cafeteria, a 10% discount is given.
Nordicash stays with the student for the duration of their enrollment at Luther.
When a student leaves Luther, any remaining Nordicash is refunded to them.
