Ethnic Arts Festival
Luther College celebrates the cultures of the world when it hosts Ethnic Arts Festival. The festival, which began in the 1980s, features presentations, programs and displays by Luther's international students from 27 countries.
Ethnic Arts Festival is designed as an educational and entertaining activity for families with children. Children can tour the world with their own "passport," getting it stamped while they visit with students who provide information about their home countries. 
The young "travelers" can have their names written in Hindi, Chinese or Arabic, or have designs painted on their hands with henna.
Other surprises awaiting visitors include a feast of international foods. Luther's international students and dining services staff prepare the feast to be served in Marty's CyberCafe. The feast offers treats not commonly found in northeast Iowa.
Following dinner, guests enjoy free entertainment beginning at 7 p.m. in the Center for Faith and Life Main Hall. Performances and shows include lively international dance, fashions from around the world, songs and skits, and laughter.
A highlight of the event is a bazaar of imported handcrafts from cooperative enterprises worldwide.
