This year SSS is providing additional opportunities for you to participate and learn! Seniors, Juniors and Sophomores are creating and expressing their experience and knowledge through several SSS-sponsored workshops. We began the year with “College Survival 101,” presented by Megan McDermott, Blake Potthoff and Ale Castellanos.
Twenty-eight First Year students benefited by attending this September 13th workshop which discussed dealing with stress and anxiety, defining “success,” money management and relationship issues (dating & friendships and family).
On October 4, thirteen students (First Year and Sophomore) learned “Who’s in Charge?” when it comes to time management.

Juniors Amanda Dunn and Kendra Moser presented this guide to managing time carefully, prioritizing, using “urgency & importance,” and realizing that if you feel overwhelmed by all you have to do - you’re not alone!
Upcoming workshops are:
- Thursday, Nov. 8 (9:45-10:45 a.m.) - Students Gone Wild in Olin 101
- Thursday, Nov. 15 (9:45-10:45 a.m.) - Finding & Winning Scholarships in Hovde Lounge
- Tuesday, Nov. 27 (9:45-10:45 a.m.) - Staying Healthy in Hovde Lounge
Link to the SSS Calendar and add these dates to yours!
Reminder to First Years and Sophomores:
These workshops also, conveniently, fulfill a portion of the SSS grant requirements.
First Years - You must attend a minimum of three (3) of these workshops before the end of the academic year (additional workshops will be held this spring).
Sophomores - You may choose to attend one or more of these workshops in order to fulfill your event/activity requirement. Remember to pick up the Activity Evaluation form in the SSS office.
