Cross country highlight:
Christina loves running at the annual All-American cross-country meet held at Luther. “There’s so much energy and Luther support. It’s really a neat experience.”

Favorite cafeteria food: “We can grind our own peanut butter in the caf,” says Christina. “It’s a staple in my diet and can be paired with countless items so I never get bored of it.”

One aspect she enjoys about campus: “I love the spontaneity of the students. It's fun to see impromptu games of Frisbee on the library lawn, snow men around campus in the winter, dorm windows elaborately decorated for Christmas, and students enjoying creative events like quidditch (from the Harry Potter movies) and Easter egg hunts.”

“I love anything that involves problem solving or number crunching,” says Christina. “I also like that the academic paths at Luther allow students to branch out a bit.” She’s enjoyed a handful of religion, history, and philosophy classes. “I recently took a J-term class where we traveled to Germany, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, and Belgium to study the European Reformation.”

Her co-curricular activities are also diverse, but suit her interests well. “I’m on the cross country and track teams and have also been involved with PALS (Luther’s mentoring program) and some of the bible study groups.”

But when it came to choosing a college, the greatest asset Luther offered her was a strong sense of community. “I never imagined that I would feel so much a part of my college. I’ve found that Luther is a very special place.”
