Monroe, Wis.
Biology and psychology

Record holder:  Holds the current indoor pole vault record at 10 feet.  She hopes to break the outdoor record of 10’ 4” by the end of the year.

Favorite treat on campus: “I’ll never turn down a Marty’s chocolate chip cookie,” she says. “It’s even better if it’s been warmed in the microwave for about 14 seconds.”

Internship:  Getting some valuable career perspective by interning with a local speech pathologist.

The fact that Elizabeth chose Luther was not a coincidence.  “I first looked at Luther because my parents and grandparents went to college here,” she says. “Plus, my grandpa, David Greedy, was a professor of opera and voice here for 43 years.”

But despite encouragement from relatives, Luther wasn’t the only college on her list. “What ultimately sold me on Luther was when I followed a student around campus for a day,” she says. “By that evening, I knew this was the place for me.  I fell in love with the campus and could tell the professors truly cared about the students.”

During her time here, Elizabeth has focused her academic path on a double major in biology and psychology.  Outside the classroom, she spends her time training with the track team and being involved in student service organizations like APO (Alpha Phi Omega) and PALS (Luther’s mentoring program).

Elizabeth will spend her spring break with Mission Panama, a small team of Luther students and a professor/advisor. “We’ll travel to some remote areas of Panama and install water tanks to provide safe drinking water. Our efforts will help the local people live healthier, longer lives.”
