McKinzy volunteers with many organizations on campus and in describing them she throws around acronyms like they’re going out of style. “I help with PALS, SAC, and APO.”

She elaborates, “PALS is an organization at Luther where I am paired with a child in Decorah and we spend time together. It is like having a big sister/little sister relationship. I joined because I love kids, and I want to make an influence on younger kids’ lives.”

She adds, “I am also involved in SAC concerts. This is the committee on campus that organizes the concerts at Luther, and chooses the performers. And APO stands for Alpha Phi Omega. This is a service fraternity on campus. We volunteer around campus and the community.”

Lohberger sums up her interest in volunteer organizations, “I enjoy volunteering around the community and the campus. Making a positive influence on others, and the community, is important to me.”
