La Crosse, Wis. - Tricia Serres earned All-America honors in the 1500 as the Norse wrapped up the 2013 season at the NCAA III National Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by UW-La Crosse.

Serres, who qualified and reached the finals for both the 1500 and 800, attempted to pull off two All-America performances within a time span of one hour and 30 minutes in her first outdoor championships appearance.To earn All-America honors an athlete must finish in the top-8.

In the 1500 finals, Serres placed fifth with a new school record of 4:23.46. Christy Cazzola, a junior from UW-Oshkosh, was crowned the national champion clocked at 4:17.22. Serres broke her own school record of 4:26.39.

Nine competitors qualified for the 800 finals. Serres, the only freshman in the finals, missed finishing eighth and earning a second All-American honor in a photo finish by .02 seconds. Serres was clocked at 2:12.07, while Jennifer Randall of Ithaca crossed the finish line in eighth place with a time of 2:12.05. Cazzola, who completed the day with three national championships, crossed the finish line with an NCAA III record of 2:05.93.

On day one of the three-day season finale, former Decorah High School athletes, freshman Jackie Hoyme and senior Christina Storlie were making their first and third appearances at the national championships respectively. Hoyme placed 12th from the field of 22 competitors in the discus with a throw of 135-7. In the prelims of the 3,000 Steeplechase, Storlie finished 21st clocked at 11:16.86.
