Luther Women’s Track Team – Nine Student-Athletes Named to 2014 USTFCCCA All-Academic Team

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced that the Luther College women’s track & field team has been named a 2014 All-Academic Team. Luther was one of 158 NCAA III institutions to earn this award.

To earn this award, a track team’s entire roster must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.10 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Luther’s team GPA was 3.30.

In addition, seven members of the team earned USTFCCAA All-Academic honors. This group included seniors Amanda Dunn (Spencer, Iowa), Kayla Uphoff (Lakeville, Minn.), Maggie Pierson (Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata); juniors Leah Broderick (Decorah, Iowa), Anna Burke (Postville, Iowa), Anna Lampe (Bellevue, Iowa); and Sophomores Marea Holkesvik (Decorah, Iowa), Jackie Hoyme (Decorah, Iowa) and Tricia Serres (Platteville, Wis.).

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic honor, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 and have met either of the following athletic standards: a student-athlete must have competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship or finished the regular season ranked in the national top-35 in an individual event or ranked in the national top-25 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org.
