The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has announced that the Luther College women’s tennis team has been named a 2012 ITA All-Academic Team.

For a team to earn this honor, all eligible student-athletes whose names appear on the NCAA III eligibility roster, must have had a combined grade-point-average (GPA) of 3.20 or higher on a 4.0 scale. This is the 14th time the Norse have been so honored.

Individually, three members of the team were also recognized as ITA Scholar-Athletes. In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a student-athlete must be a varsity letter winner, have a GPA of at least 3.50 or greater on a 4.0 scale, and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.

The three student-athletes who earned this award are juniors Elise Allen, Katy Lindstrom and Annie Whiteley.

The Norse ended the 2011-12 campaign ranked 13th in the ITA Central Region after posting an overall record of 18-7.
