The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) announced today that Clare Slagel has been named the Performer of the Week for a second time this season.
Slagel, a freshman, participated in seven events at the Rochester Mid-Season Invitational hosted by St. Cloud State, winning the 100 and 200 backstroke. Following the meet she ranked fifth in NCAA Division III in both the 100 (55.70) and 200 (2:01.38) backstrokes, just missing the A cut for the national meet. She also took third in the 500 freestyle (5:10.59) and was part of Luther's fourth-place 200 medley (1:49.00) and 400 medley (3:56.43) and eighth-place 200 freestyle (1:40.78) and 400 freestyle (3:40.07) relays as the Norse took sixth in the 11-team field.
