The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) has announced that Clare Slagel has been named the Swimmer of the Week.

Slagel, a freshman, helped lead Luther to a 123-120 victory over UW-Whitewater by posting three first-place finishes. She set a new school and pool record and posted an NCAA Division III B-cut time of 57.96 seconds, swimming the 100 backstroke in the first leg of the 400 medley relay. The winning time of 4:02.91 posted by the entire 400 medley relay was also a pool record. Slagel also won the 200 freestyle (1:58.26) and the open 100 backstroke (58.18).
