Luther traveled to Coe College for the final dual meet of the 2017-18 campaign. A victory by the Kohawks in the final race of the afternoon, the 200 freestyle relay, secured a come-from-behind tie at 118-118.
Norse divers Megan Broadbent and Elizabeth Bonin efforts on the one-meter and three-meter boards produced 26 points this afternoon towards the team total. Broadbent won both events and Bonin was the runner-up.
Sam Kraft and Linnea Lee-Brown posted the only individual first place finishes. Kraft won both the 1000 freestyle (11:18.10) and the 100 freestyle (:57.60), while Lee-Brown touched the wall first in the 50 freestyle (:25.26) and the 100 butterfly (1:01.89).
The tie gives Luther a dual meet record against Iowa Conference opponents of 2-0-1, 2-2-1 overall.
Luther's next action will be the Liberal Arts Championships Feb. 14-17. The Norse will be hosting this four-day event for the first time in the 36-year history of the meet. This is the final opportunity for athletes to post qualifying marks for the NCAA III National Championships.
