The Luther College swimming and diving team rolled to its eighth consecutive Liberal Arts Championships title.
The Norse dominated the three days of competition setting eight school and Liberal Arts Championships records en route to their 11th team title overall.
Individual honors were presented to Clare Slagel and Zoe Johnson. Slagel was named the Swimmer of the Year, the second consecutive time she has been so honored. Slagel placed first in all seven events she competed in, setting individual Liberal Arts Championships records in the 100 and 200 backstroke and 500 freestyle. She was also a member of the record setting 200 and 400 medley relay teams.
Johnson was also honored for a second year in a row, named the Diver of the Year, after capturing both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving competitions. Johnson won the 1-meter event by 17.7 points over teammate Brandi Schierland. She dominated the 3-meter competition posting a school record 416.85 points, finishing 28.5 points ahead of her nearest competitor.
Coaching honors were presented to Lance Huber who was named Female Coach of the Year, and Dave Happel who was named Female Diving Coach of the Year.
