Softball - NCAA III Whitewater Regional vs. North Central (IL)

Luther advanced to the championship game of the Whitewater Regional defeating North Central (IL) 4-2. The Norse are now one win away from advancing to the eight-team NCAA III Championship finals for a fourth consecutive year. The victory gives Luther an overall record of 31-9.

The Norse scored four runs on five hits led by Kelsey Weindruch who tallied two RBI. Weindruch was credited with driving in the first run of the game on a 1-4-3 putout that scored Shari Huber from third. Weindruch lead-off the fifth with a solo shot to left field.

Miranda McCay and Kayla Hatting were also credited with an RBI in the fourth, the only inning either team scored multiple runs.

Becca Girvan improved to 21-5 going the distance in the circle. Girvan allowed one run on four hits, walked three and struckout two.

Tomorrow's championship game is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. What team Luther will play will be determined tomorrow.
