A three-run home run to center field by Kelsey Weindruch proved to be the difference as Luther captured its third Iowa Conference Tournament championship in the past four years. Weindruch's blast was her only hit of the ballgame and capped off a four-run third for the Norse.

Miranda McCay tallied two of Luther's six hits, going 2-for-2 at the plate with two runs scored. Elisa Smith drove in a run in the third as did Kelsey Rose in the seventh.

Becca Girvan (18-5) wrapped up the victory allowing two runs on five hits. Girvan faced 26 batters and struck out 11.

The victory secured the league's automatic berth to the NCAA III National Tournament. The Norse will be making their fifth consecutive trip to the national tournament and seventh in the past eight years. Luther will enter the tournament with an overall record of 28-9.
