Luther improved to 13-3 after defeating Houghton College (NY) 12-3 in five innings. The victory wrapped up a busy week for the Norse who played 12 games in six days at the National Training Center in Clermont, Fla.,
Elisa Smith and Katie Wieland both hit three-run home runs. Wieland's came in the first frame and Smith's came in the fourth.
Erica Manske (4-0) was credited with the win. Manske allowed three runs on on three hits, walked two and struck out five.
Luther will return to action on Wednesday, April 3 when it will host Wartburg College for the conference opening double header for both clubs. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Both games will be video streamed.
