Nationally ranked No. 7 Luther had to wait a few hours before it could begin its spring break schedule at the National Training Center in Clermont, Fla., due to poor weather conditions. In a game originally scheduled for 1:00 p.m. (est), the Norse and MIT (MA) squared off at 7:00 p.m.

MIT jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first, but Luther responded with four runs in the fifth, one in the sixth and three in the seven en route to a 8-2 victory.

Erica Manske (1-0) went the distance in the circle allowing two runs on four hits, walking one and striking out five.

Alise Miller hit her first home run of the season, a three-run shot in the fifth. Shari Huber, Kelsey Weindruch and Kayla Hatting all had two hits.
