It took an extra five minutes before Luther was able to secure its first win in the Iowa Conference tonight in Storm Lake, Iowa. Maggie Herrity, who scored the first goal of the match, scored from 40-yards out in the 95th minute, giving Luther a 3-2 overtime victory over Buena Vista University this evening.
Herrity scored her first goal in the 22nd minute assisted by Maggie Jaspers (1). Lydia Eager (2) gave the Norse a 2-0 lead 35 second into the second frame. Buena Vista tied the match scoring goals in the 75th and 81st minutes.
The victory gives Luther an Iowa Conference mark of 1-2, 5-6-1 overall. Buena Vista falls to 0-3 in league play, 9-4-1 overall.
The Norse will travel to University of Dubuque on Wednesday, Oct. 10 for a match that will begin at 5:00 p.m.
