The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) announced today that Maggie Pierson was named the league's women's cross country performer of the week for the week ending Sunday, Oct. 7.

Pierson, a junior, finished second in a field of 152 runners at the St. Kate's Invitational Oct. 6. She covered a quick 4-kilometer course in 14 minutes, 33.64 seconds and was just three seconds off the pace set by Hamline's Maria Theisen. The Norse won the team title with 32 points.
