  • 1999 graduate of University of Iowa - M.S. Exercise Physiology
  • Eighth year as head cross-country coach
  • Named Men's Iowa Conference Coach of the Year in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010
  • Also serves as assistant track and field coach coaching the distance runners
  • Prior to taking over the Norse programs Steve spent two years as an assistant at Williams College (MA), where the women's team won the national championship in 2004 and the men's team finished in the top-10 in 2003 and 2004
  • From 2000-2002 head men's coach of cross country at Macalester College (MN)
  • 1997 graduate of St. John's University (MN) where he earned all-conference honors n cross country and track

Associate Head Coach

  • Eighth year as associate head cross country coach for the women's program.
  • 2000 graduate of Macalester College - B.A. International Studies
  • Graduate of NCAA Women's Coaches Academy
  • Three-Times named Iowa Conference Coach of the Year after Norse won league titles in 2006, 2007 and 2010
  • Also named Region Coach of the Year after Norse captured Central Region Titles in 2007 and 2010
  • The Norse have also qualified for the NCAA III National Championships placing 11th in 2006, 10th in 2007, 7th in 2008, 6th in 2010, and 23rd in 2011
  • Six-time All-American in cross country and track while a student-athlete at Claremont-McKenna College and Macalester College
  • Serves as the distance runners coach for the Norse track and field team
  • Joined the Luther staff following two years as an assistant at Williams College (Mass.), where the women's team won the national title in 2004

  • Ran on Luther's 2010 and 2011 National Championships qualifying teams
  • Two-time indoor all-conference performer in the 5,000 and once in this same event outdoors
  • Two-time academic all-conference honoree
