The 2014 Capital One Division III Academic All-District® Women’s Track & Cross Country Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), has been released to recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Capital One became the entitlement rights holder to CoSIDA’s Academic All-America teams programs in 2011.
Tricia Serres, a 2012 graduate of Platteville High School, has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District 8 First-Team.
First-team Academic All-District ® honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later next month.
In just two seasons competing for the Norse, Serres has earned six All-American honors, most recently as the national runner-up in the 1500 at the NCAA III National Outdoor Track and Field Championships held May 22-24. Prior to this honor, she earned All-American honors in cross country in 2012 placing 20th at the national meet; twice in 2013 in the Mile indoors (4th place) and 1500 outdoors (5th place); and twice indoors in 2014 in the Mile (2nd place) and 3,000 (3rd place). She also has her named etched atop the Luther track and field record books seven times.
Serres is an Biology major who has accumulated a grade point average of 3.54. She is the daughter of Rob and Heidi Serres of Platteville, Wis.
