Luther rolled to an 81-54 victory over Curry College (MA) in the first of two games of the Music City Classic played in Nashville, Tenn. The Norse never trailed in this game holding the Colonels to 34 percent from the field. Luther also forced Curry to turn the ball over 37 times and won the battle of the boards 58-48.
Anna Madrigal led all scorers with a career high 18 points. Madrigal was 7-of-16 from the field that included a 4-of-8 performance from behind the three-point line. Moran Lonning, Kylie Romeo and Solveig Nelson all tallied 12. Solveig's point total was also a career high.
The win was the fifth in a row for the Norse who improved to 8-1. The loss snapped a three-game win streak for Curry who fell to 5-3.
Luther will wrap up its trip to the Music City Classic tomorrow when it will play Kenyon College (OH) at 6:00 p.m.
