Luther improved to 6-2, its best start since the 2006-07 campaing, posting a 70-57 victory over Northwestern College (MN) in the Regents Center.
Luther's inside game dominated as the Norse outscored the Eagles 42-10 in the paint and also tallied a 16-3 advantage in second chance points.
Taylor Johnson recorded her eighth double-double of the season. Johnson tallied 16 points and collected a game high 11 rebounds. Nellie Nelson led all scorers with 19 points, while Rachel Stenhaug and Logan Hjerleid chipped in 16 and 11 respectively. Meagan Koepnick dished out five assists and grabbed a career high 10 rebounds.
The Eagles also had four players reach double figures. Mollie Sir and Courtney Cunard both scored 15. Kim Campbell was credited with 11 and Jessica Fife had 10.
The Norse will be off until after finals next week. They will host UW-Eau Claire on Saturday, Dec. 15 at 2:00 p.m.
