The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) has announced its All-Conference Team for the 2012-13 season following a vote of the league’s coaches. Luther was one of three schools that had three players named to the all-conference team.
Taylor Johnson, who led the Norse in scoring and rebounding was a first team honoree, while Meagan Koepnick and Nellie Nelson were second team selections.
Johnson, who tallied 13 double-doubles during the 2012-13 campaign scored 430 points and collected 255 rebounds. A junior, Johnson is one of three Norse who have scored over 1,000 points and grabbed over 600 rebounds during their careers. She will enter her final season with a career total of 1,034 points and 625 rebounds that ranks tenth and fourth on Luther's all-time lists respectively. Last year, Johnson was a second team honoree.
Koepnick and Nelson are making their first appearance on the all-conference team. Keopnick finished second on the team in scoring with 287 points and was also second with 69 assists and 25 steals. In league play, she ranked fifth in scoring averaging 12.1 points per game. She was also ranked second with a free throw percentage of 87.9 (51-58), and third with a three-point shooting percentage of 46.0 (23-50).
Nelson missed the final six games of the season due to a knee injury. During her 20 games of action, she tallied 265 points and collected 167 rebounds. She posted career highs of 28 points against University of Dubuque and 15 rebounds against Viterbo University.
