During her first year of competition, Dani broke the 800 meter school record that had been on the books for nine years. For her efforts, she was voted Rookie of the Year by her teammates.

"The track-and-field coaching staff continually pushed me to be a stronger competitor both physically and mentally. Qualifying for the national outdoor championships last season was so rewarding, especially after all the time and miles invested in training throughout the season."
