During her freshman season, Stephanie set new school records in both the 100 and 200 breaststrokes, records that had been on the books since 1992.

"I graduated from North Fayette High School. We didn't have a swim team there, so during my high school career, I swam for Decorah High School, which practices and holds its home meets at Luther. I knew Luther had a very successful swimming program, and I also knew I wanted to go to a liberal arts college. After a campus visit, I felt like Luther was a good fit for me.

"It has been a great experience being part of such a close team. Your teammates are always there to support you not only during practice and competitions but outside the athletic arena as well."
