St. Ansgar, Iowa

Softball

A biology/pre-med major, Kelsey plans on attending medical school to become an orthopedic or podiatric surgeon.

Kelsey completed her Luther career with one of the most impressive resumes in school history. In 2012 she was a second team NFCA All-American catcher. She was also presented the Elite 89 Award, given to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA participating at the finals site in each of the NCAA's 89 championships, for a third consecutive year becoming the only student-athlete to receive this prestigious honor three times in a single sport. She was also an NCAA Postgraduate Scholar and was a Top-9 Finalist for NCAA Woman of the Year.

"My Luther experience was life-changing. Two things that most people don't associate together are hard work and fun, and that's exactly what the Luther softball team stands for. It is comprised of young women who have a passion for the game, want to work hard, and have a blast doing it. Sharing these three things in common with a group of teammates was an incredible feeling."

"This team was my second family, and my teammates are friends I will have the rest of my life. I think it's a rare experience in life to have a coaching staff and team wanting nothing but the best for you in softball and in life, and pushing you to go after it."

"Winning the NCAA regional and making it to the national tournament three times is an experience I'll never forget. We worked so hard to get there, and our dream came true in one moment. I get chills just thinking about our time in the postseason brackets."
