Luther wrapped up the Iowa Conference Duals with a showdown between two nationally ranked teams. Unfortunately, No. 12 Coe defeated No. 24 Luther 20-16.

Kyle Windquist (141) and Dakota Gray (149) gave the Norse a 9-6 early lead, following a 5-0 decision by Windquist and fall at 2:27 by Gray.

After Coe took a 10-9 advantage following the 157 match, Garrett Bonte (165) posted a major decision of 12-0 over Farai Sewera, that gave the Norse what proved to be their final lead of the match at 13-10.

The Kohawks rattled off 10 straight points before Nick Pearch (285) completed the match with a 6-4 decision over Corey Becker.

Box score

The loss drops Luther's Iowa Conference record to 3-2, 8-7 overall. Coe, who went 3-0 for the day, improved to 6-1 in league action, 12-5 overall.

Luther's next match will be at home on Friday, Feb.1 against Buena Vista University. This match will be video streamed and will begin at 7:00 p.m.
