Day Two Recap: Nick Clark and the 4 x 800 relay team earned all-conference honors as Luther wrapped up the 2013 IIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships. The Norse placed sixth with 42 points. Central won the team title by two points finishing with 186. Wartburg was second with 184.
Clark placed third in the 200 (22.79) establishing a new school record in the process.
Kurt Hellman, Jack Espeset, Logan Langley and John Donovan also placed third in the 4 x 800. Their time of 7:55.53 was also a school record.
Luther top-10 performances were posted by Dan Etter in the 35lb weight throw (48-0 3/4 - 2nd), Alex Rigdon in the 3,000 (8:46.22 - 6th), and Andy Ambrose in the Heptathlon (3954 - 2nd).
Day One Recap: Luther is in sixth place with 13 points after the first day of competition of the 2013 Iowa Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships. Wartburg leads the eight-team field with 58 points, followed by Central with 56.
The top three place winners for both individual events and relays earn all-conference honors.
The distance medley relay of Kurt Hellmann, Devin Gilbertson, John Donovan and Logan Langley earned all-conference honors with a third place finish (10:33.55).
Luther top-10 performances were produced by Cole Hocker in the 55 dash (6.75 - 7th); Erick Queoff in the pole vault (13-9 1/4 - 9th); and the 4 x 200 of Joel Clark, Hocker, Henry Junbauer and Nick Clark (1:31.76 - 2nd).
