No. 24 Luther traveled to Waverly, Iowa and was defeated by No. 1 Wartburg 34-6 in front of an estimated crowd of 800 in Levick Arena.
Trent Flegel (197), ranked No. 7 in the recent nationally rankings released by the National Wrestling Coaches Association Jan. 16, recorded Luther's lone points of the evening, defeating Phil Hawes by fall at 5:49.
The loss drops Luther's Iowa Conference dual meet record to 1-1, 6-6 overall. Wartburg improved to 2-0 in the IIAC, 11-0 overall.
The Norse will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 19 when they will compete at the Matman Invitational hosted by Cornell College.
