Luther snapped a four-match losing streak defeating Hamline University 3-1 this afternoon in St. Paul. After dropping the first set 23-25, the Norse won the next three by scores of 25-21, 25-16 and 25-22. Earlier this year these two teams met at the St. Catherine Tournament and Hamline won that match 3-2.
Luther tallied an attack percentage of .256. Sophia Brown and Hannah Theisen led all attackers with 18 kills each. Hannah Wilson also reached double digits in this category with 10.
Lindsey Ryan dished out 51 assists and was one of five players to tally double digit dig totals. Alexis Dorschner led the team with 20 digs, followed by Jordyn Dudek, Ryan and Natalee Johnson all with 14. Ellen Pritchard was credited with 11.
The victory gives Luther an overall record of 9-10. Hamline fell to 14-7.
The Norse will return to Iowa Conference action on Wednesday, Oct. 10 when they will travel to league leading Wartburg College. This match will begin at 7:30 p.m.
