In a show down between regionally ranked teams in Northfield, Minn., it was host Carleton that came out on top. The Knights, ranked No. 6 in the North Region, handed No. 4 Luther its first loss of the season by a score of 5-2.

The Knights scored three goals in the first 17 minutes of action, including the game winner just 36 seconds into the contest. 

Logan Martell (1) and Saul Rosales (5) were credited with the Luther goals. Martell found the back of the Knights net unassisted at 34:35. Rosales scored in the 76th minute on a penalty kick.

Box score

The loss gives Luther an overall record of 4-1-2. Carleton improved to 5-1-0.

The Norse return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 19 when they will host St. Mary's University. Kick-off is slated for 5:00 p.m.
