Justin Kreiter finished his final NCAA III National Championship as the national runner-up tonight at the La Crosse Center, La Crosse, Wis. Kreiter, now a two-time All-American, was defeated by Jordan Newman of UW-Whitewater by fall at 4:03. Kreiter finishes his senior year with a record of 27-3, 95-35 for his career.
Kreiter advanced to the championship match defeating the No. 1 seed of the bracket 5-3 in today's semifinals. Kreiter defeated Owen Webster of Augsburg College, who entered the match with a record of 31-1 and a 28-match win streak. Prior to his loss to Kreiter he was 22-0 versus Division III wrestlers.
Kreiter tallied 17 points during the two days of competition and Luther finished 22nd in the overall team standings.
