Three Luther College wrestlers have earned return trips to the NCAA Division III National Wrestling Championships. UW-La Crosse will host the national finale March 10-11 at the La Crosse Center, La Crosse, Wis.
Tristan Zurfluh (165), who was a 2016 all-American at 157 a year ago, advanced to the national meet for the second year in a row. At the Central Regional, Zurfluh advanced to the title bout after defeating the top-seed in the bracket, Bryce Steiert of Wartburg, 6-1 in the semifinals. Ryan Vandall of Central, the second seed, narrowly defeated Zurfluh for the regional championship 4-3. Zurfluh will enter the national tournament with a record of 21-10 and a career mark of 82-57.
Javier Reyes had to wrestle six matches to earn a return trip to the national meet. Reyes lost his quarterfinal match at 174 to Eddie Smith of Loras 6-3. Reyes went on to win three matches in the consolation bracket, setting up a rematch with Smith in the third place match. Reyes won 4-2 in sudden victory. Reyes has posted a record of 27-16 and a career mark of 79-58.
Justin Kreiter, a 2016 All-American, has been ranked in the top-10 of his weight category all year. He captured his second consecutive Central Regional championship at 184. Kreiter defeated Christos Giatras of Augustana-Rock Island 9-2 in the title match. Kreiter is 24-2 and 92-34 for his career.

Opening ceremonies will begin at 10:15 a.m. on Friday, March 10 with first session action beginning at 11:00 a.m.
