  • 26th year as head coach - seventh as head coach for both the men's and women's programs.
  • Has coached 77 conference champions and 33 All-Americans including 2001 Indoor Distance Medley Relay National Championship team.
  • Has coached 402 track-and-field all-conference performers.
  • Named 1995 Iowa Conference Coach of the Year in track and field.
  • Serves as co-director of the Luther College Distance Running Camp.

Assistant Coach - Mid-Distance/Distance

  • 1997 graduate of St. John's University.
  • 1999 graduate of University of Iowa - M.S. Exercise Physiology.
  • Seventh year as assistant coach.
  • Also serves as the head men's cross-country coach.
  • Led Norse to five consecutive Iowa Conference cross country championship in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010.
  • His cross-country teams have placed 6th at the NCAA III National Championships in 2006, 8th in 2007 and 26th in 2010.
  • Named Iowa Conference Cross Country Coach of the Year in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010.
  • Prior to taking over the Norse programs Steve spent two years as an assistant at Williams College (MA), where the women's team won the national championship in 2004 and the men's team finished in the top-10 in 2003 and 2004.
  • From 2000-2002 head men's coach of cross country at Macalester College (MN).

Assistant Coach - Mid-Distance/Distance

  • 2000 Graduate of Macalester College.
  • Seventh year as an assistant coach.
  • Also serves as the head coach for women's cross country team.
  • Led the Norse to Iowa Conference cross-country championships in 2006, 2007 and 2010.
  • Her teams have made four appearances at the NCAA III National Cross-Country Championships finishing 11th (2006), 10th (2007), 7th (2008) and 6th in 2010.
  • Named Iowa Conference Coach of the Year in 2006, 2007 and 2010.
  • Named Central Region Coach of the Year after the Norse captured the 2007 and 2010 Central Region championship.
  • Joined the Luther staff following two years as an assistant at Williams College (Mass.), where the women's team won the national title in 2004.
  • Four-time All-American in 1500 meter run (1997-2000) and a two-time All-American in Cross Country (1997, 1998) while a student-athlete at Macalester College.

  • 2007 graduate of Luther College - B.A. physical education with an emphasis in exercise science.
  • 2009 graduate of the University of Minnesota - M.S. kinesiology.
  • Third year as an assistant coach.
  • USATF level one certified coach.
  • Served as captain of the Norse cross country and track teams as a senior.
  • Assistant cross country and track coach at Hamline University 2007-09.
  • Also teaches an anatomy course in the Health and Physical Education department.

  • 2008 Graduate of Luther College
  • Fourth year as an assistant coach
  • 2007 All-American in 4 x 400
  • 2006 Iowa Conference Indoor Champion 4 x 400
  • 2007 Iowa Conference Outdoor Champion 4 x 400
  • Four-year letter winner in both track and field and football
  • Also serves as an assistant coach for the Norse football team
