Luther traveled to Carleton College for the Meet of Hearts Invitational. The Norse placed fourth of five teams posting a team total of 105.50 points. Hamline University won the team title with 185.50 points, while Gustavus Adolphus was second with 128.50.
Austin Bauer headlined today's results placing second in the 3,000 meter run with a school record time of 8:33.53. He broke the old mark of 8:35.94 set by David McKay in 2009. Scott Mittman posted the fourth fastest time in school history in this same event, placing fourth clocked at 8:39.78.
Joel Clarke just missed a school record in the 55 hurdles. Clark won the event with a time of 7.76. Darin Miller holds the record of 7.75 set in 1987.
Nick Arnold moved into the sixth slot all-time in the 35lb. weight throw. Arnold placed fifth with a mark of 46-8.
Finishing in the top-three this afternoon included, Henry Jungbauer in the long jump (2nd - 20-6 1/2), Sam Stokes-Cerkvenik in the 600 (3rd - 1:26.85), John Donovan in the 800 (3rd - 1:58.11), Erik Queoff in the pole vault (13-1 1/2), and Caleb Freund in the high jump (3rd - 5-8)
The Norse will travel to University of Northern Iowa for the UNI Open on Friday, Feb. 21. Start time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
