The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has announced that Luther junior Brian Murman (Fort Dodge, Iowa) has been named the Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, April 8, 2018.
Murman helped Luther to a record of 2-1 this past week. The Norse defeated regionally ranked No. 15 UW-Eau Claire 7-2; defeated the University of Dubuque 9-0; and lost to regionally ranked No. 9 Carleton College 7-2.
Murman and playing partner Cole Schneider (Coralville, Iowa/Iowa City West) posted a record of 2-0 at No. 2 doubles. Murman also played one match with Sakchham Karki (Patan, Nepal/Rato Bangala) at No. 2 and also won, finishing the week with a mark of 3-0. Murman and Schneider are now 15-1 this year.
In singles, Murman went 2-1 playing at No. 5 twice and at No. 4 once. His season record in singles is now 13-5.
This is Murman’s first career Player of the Week accolade and third for the Norse this season
